Don't downplay


We are often inclined be depracating when given compliments. Maybe we were trained at our mother's knees to be modest. 
When someone praises your appearance, be gracious and simply say "thank you". Accepting praise makes you feel good and look better. "Don't downplay it" says Judith Beck, Director of the Beck Institute for Cognititive Therapy and Research. And, "don't add any qualifiers."
